Sophia is a New York based design practitioner with a decade’s worth experience that spans both strategic design direction and execution for brand development, event and public placemaking. Whether through consulting for larger agencies or working directly with clients, she brings value to complex business problems and aesthetic challenges alike through deep analogical thinking, strong research skills and a keen visual instinct.

Sophia’s experience spans art direction for the international architectural lighting design firm, L’Observatoire International; where she supported the design team on a range of projects from RFP and proposal development to design execution for projects helmed by Frank Gehry, Steven Holl and Jean Nouvell. She co-founded a design studio, Thinkcraft, which privately consulted for a number of larger NY ad agencies and has led internal design teams on projects for Uber, Verizon and Meta. She also believes that good design and innovative experiences should exist in the broader public domain, and as such — also has experience researching and writing bid winning placemaking projects where she has worked with architecture firms, local city council and civic stakeholders. Her studio’s most recent public placemaking project in Australia took out three Australian Landscape Awards.

Sophia Has a BA. and MA. in Creative Media and Design from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
